As mentioned above, there are a wide range of development challenges facing the pastoral and agro-pastoralists in the Somali region which have negative impact on their lives and increase their vulnerability and marginalization. RESDO as sustainable development organization in one of the highly under developed areas of the country, its prime focus is always determined by situations and context. Thus RESDO is established to holistically addresses the following programs

  • Education for all, capacity and skill building for adults
  • Gender Based violence-GBV
  • WASH
  • Health
  • Environment
  • Humanitarian emergences
  • Economic and livelihoods strengthening

There is considerable overlap between these issues and their impact on the lives of the vulnerable pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities in the region and RESDO will identify contextually appropriate strategies to address the needs of the communities in those sectors.
